NAICU Opposition to Student Unit Record Data Proposal Continues-      

       NAICU is committed to working cooperatively with the Department of Education and its colleague associations in exploring ways to provide more user-friendly data for use by consumers and higher education researchers.  However, the association remains opposed to ill-formed concepts that would potentially compromise the privacy and security of individual students' data.
       Most recently, these concerns have been summarized in an "opposing view" opinion piece by NAICU Board Chair David Shi, president of Furman University, published in USA Today on October 17.
